9 Days Northern Circuit Route

5/10

Tour Overview

The 9 Days Northern Circuit Route is the longest and most scenic trail on Mount Kilimanjaro, circling the mountain’s remote northern slopes for an unmatched trekking experience. Starting from the west near the Londorossi Gate, this route offers excellent acclimatization with a gradual ascent and low daily elevation gains. Trekkers enjoy panoramic views, fewer crowds, and access to rarely visited areas of the mountain.

While it includes the dramatic beauty of the Shira Plateau and the challenge of the high-altitude Lava Tower, the true highlight is the solitude and serenity of the Northern Circuit itself—offering expansive views of Kenya’s plains and Kilimanjaro’s rugged north face. The route culminates with a summit attempt from School Hut via Gilman’s Point, and descends along the Mweka Route through lush rainforest, making it one of the most rewarding and successful ways to reach Uhuru Peak.

Arrival in Tanzania – Welcome to Moshi

Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO), a friendly Lucky Moon Adventure representative will be waiting to transfer you to your hotel in Moshi, the gateway to Mount Kilimanjaro. In the evening, you’ll meet your guide for a detailed trek briefing and a final equipment check before the adventure begins.
